Peace on Earth

Posted in Recent projects at 5:29 am

Wishing each of you the Happiest of Holidays!!!! I was fortunate enough to spend Christmas Eve with Scott, Carly and our dog MAX at my mom’s house.  My youngest brother Kelly and his family (CUTE KIDS -but they are growing) and my nephew Nick was also there - We always, always hear the Biblical story of Christ’s birthday, sing Christmas hymns, play some games and eat lots of good food - then each family heads back to their homes to wake up to Christmas Day…… we missed having Courtney, our oldest here this year…… but work, weather, weather, and funds prevented that.

I’ve been so blessed this season to be surrounded with family and friends, along with  good health, and both Scott and I employed. I may complain (daily) about the increased hours I’ve been putting in at the paid job - but like Scott reminded me - what I do - I do extremely well - look at all those unemployed people you’ve given hope, the opportunity to go back to school, get training and skills they desperately need in order to get back into the workforce - For Scott and I, it hasn’t always been this way - we too, have experienced lay-offs (Scott works in the timber/lumber industry)……..

Here are a couple of cards I made and sent this year….. Peace on Earth is their message….. that may be a big WISH and HOPE, however, I’m fortunate to at least have Peace in my Heart, Peace in my Home. My hope is for Peace in OUR COUNTRY, and on OUR EARTH……

They are both pretty straight forward - music background stamp is from Beeswax, various dies and punches (Spellbinders & Marvy - oh, and little snowflake from Martha) - love Anna Wight’s snowflake frenzy she caused…… yes, I had to give it a try - oh, so pretty in real life….. Well, it’s really, really cold here - lots of snow…. more in the next couple of days.  I’m able to take an extended weekend….. and of course, will stay warm inside - and do a little stamping and creating …… For the remainder of your holiday - I wish you peace.  Enjoy and Create, Lila

Tuesday’s Challenge-BLING!!!

Posted in Creative Cuts & More, Jacksonbelle Embellishments, Recent projects at 4:57 am

Our Jacksonbelle Embellishment’s Tuesday Challenge this week is to use BLING, SHIMMERZ, or anything that shines and shimmers!  Lindsey offers sooooo many dazzling items in her store - Glimmer Mists, Shimmerz and & Blingz, Prima -Say it in Crystals, and Stickles (including all the new colors!!!). My card sample doesn’t have a great deal of stamping - in fact just the sentiment (Inkadinkado).  The focal image is from Creative Cuts & More - using Velvet paper die cut and layered to make a Poinsietta - the center is a “Say it in Crystal” (Prima).  Cardstock is yummy Bazzill Bling paper (from Creative Cuts & More); and the Pattern Paper is Imaginisce (from JBelle). Ribbon (Prima), Nestabilities die cuts.  Take a look….

Now I missed posting for last week - where we used some of our “Favorite” JBelle products….. here’s mine - it was really hard to decide what was my favorite….. I used a Cuttlebug folder, Memory Box stamps for the main image and sentiment, and some Basic Grey paper, May Arts Ribbon - all available from JBelle…….
