JBE-Tuesday’s Challenge

Posted in Creative Cuts & More, Jacksonbelle Embellishments, Technique Junkie at 3:24 am

This week’s challenge for Jacksonbelle Embellishment DT’s is Autumn/Fall colors or Thanksgiving.  Well, I have to admit things have been getting extremely busy at my paid job (I work for the Idaho Dept of Labor) and we have several companies with hundreds of workers being permanently laid off - my energy these days seems to be spent helping those who have lost their jobs….. but I do have a couple of projects I wanted to share - some of you may have seen them through PatStamps Technique Junkie Newsletter - they both use the “Ribbon Through” technique described in October 08 mailing and sampled on the website.  I really like this technique - I never know what to do with all those little pieces of ribbon leftovers - this is a perfect way to use all those pieces I just can’t bear to toss in the trash.

For both samples, rather than using punches, I wanted a little larger image to work with and showcase my ribbon through - well, Creative Cuts & More was able to help me out with that.  I asked Terry to custom die cut using her leaf dies with Bazzill paper….. she sent me the negative images and then I went to work with the ribbon technique. The “Autumn” sample uses Basic Grey ribbon, a little Copper Encore ink, nailhead brads and call that one complete. The pumpkin sample uses Bazzill paper and negative die - I ran it through my Cuttlebug first then highlighted/distressed areas with Chocolate Chip ink (SU).  Can’t you just see holiday dies with the technique - like tree ornaments? snowflakes? candy canes? Christmas trees?  I think it could go on and on…. take a quick look at Creative Cuts and More for all your die choices - then take a look at all those little ribbon pieces you just can’t seem to toss - and for even more ribbon ideas and one of the best values is PatStamps Technique Junkies newsletter - gives you even more ideas and ways to use the products you’ve already (most likely) got on hand.

See how the other JBE DT members used their creative juices for this challenge - links to their blog on the righthand side bar.  Enjoy and Create, Lila
