A Little Embossing
A couple weeks ago the Linnecards.com weekly challenge was embossing - either dry or wet - I decided to try my hand at both. I think embossing, as a place to start, is one of my favorite techniques. I really like the texture and look of dry embossing - This sample uses wet embossing. For wet embossing I primarily use VersaMark and my ink of choice. Then use what ever color embossing powder you want. Another option is to first ink your VersaMark and then take the stamp to a dye colored pad you can then use clear embossing powder. For the sample I stamped the flower (Stampendous) with VersaMark and used Black embossing powder heat set. I also stamped with little sentiment (Stampin Up) with VersaMark and used white embossing powder (SU). A little ribbon tied across the top and a couple of Robin’s Nest baubles in the lower right corner finish the project. A WET embossing project:
A DRY embossing project - I really like the texture and look of dry embossing - I must admit that the traditional dry embossing with a stylus, these days is difficult for these poor hands of mine - a great alternative is using the wonderful tools on today’s market. This sample demonstrates using a Swiss Dots embossing folder Cuttlebug) and then you can see the embossing around the oval circle with the sentiment (Stamping Up) done using an Oval Nestabilities die (Spellbinders) and then mounted on an Oval Scallop Nestabilities; Other details White Cardstock (Classic Creast-Solar White); Pattern Paper “Giggle Girl” (Sweetwater). I cut a couple butterflies from the leftoverpaper and gently fold their wings and glued the body on existing butterflies on the pattern paper
Enjoy and Create, Lila

Love embossing and the cool textures you get from it, too. The Swiss Dots folder is one of my all time favorites. It looks wonderful here with all the popped butterflies. Both these cards are gorgeous!
