I must admit it seems so unusual that Easter is coming soooo early - We have a couple of Easter traditions. Of course, there are the Easter baskets and little goodies for our girls and the dog MAX!!! We usually have a small breakfast/brunch and then head to my mother’s house for Easter dinner with my brother’s families (those that are in the area) and their kids. Today is no exception. I had a chance last weekend to make some super quick and simple Easter cards to send family and friends.

The above were so simple. I started with Select White (Papertray Ink) as the base, run the next layer through the Swiss Dot Cuttlebug embossing folder (love, love, love that folder). Then a little pattern paper and rub ons from Imaginisce. Some die cutting with my Nestabilities, a little ribbon, and a simple sentiment from Papertrey Ink. Done - all were mailed and should have been received by now.
Hope you are enjoying your Easter Sunday. Enjoy and create, Lila

So I had a chance this weekend to get a little play time in. Linnecards.com had their 3rd anniversary on-line scrap party - got a few samples made “just for fun” and participated in that. Finished a few Easter & Spring cards - got some new Basic Grey paper and some new rubber….. play time was fun.

Each of the above cards uses Artistic Outpost rubber stamps. The pattern paper is from Basic Grey’s new “Archaic” 6X6 pad. What a fun and groovy collection of paper designs.
The middle sample “Serenity” is all pure stamping - no pattern paper here. Used both Canvas and Linen background stamps from SU - a little muslin and some machine stitching rounds out the soft country feel I was going for. I hope you enjoy these samples as much as I enjoyed making them - I’m really diggin AO’s images. Enjoy and Create, Lila

Hello!!! This card is one of my favorites I’ve done lately. I love these colors together and it uses one of the new Hero Arts sets I got from Linnecard and some Ranger Crackle Distress Paints. I made this sample for Linnecards sketch challenge this week. Card details:
Pattern Paper: Autumn Leaves
Cardstock: Papertry Ink & Stampin Up
Stamp Set: “Trees, Birds & Messages” Hero Arts
Ink & Coloring: Graphite Black (Brilliance); various Copic markers
Accessories: “Shabby Shutters” (Tim Holtz Distress Crackle paint); brad (Making Memories); Prima Flower; Robin’s Nest bauble; Chipboard name plate (Creative Cuts & More); Pop Dots
Speaking of Linnecard - Sharon is having a 3rd anniversary party on Saturday, March 15 - with an on-line crop, give aways, challenges, games and SALE!!
So our oldest daughter, Courtney, threatened me!!!! saying I had to post seven random facts about myself or she wouldn’t come home in May for a visit……… OK, I’ll see if I can come up with seven.
1) I’m left-handed - to my knowledge, I’m the only one in my immediate family that is left-handed - that includes, mother, father, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews on both mom and dad sides of the family - - - - I like to think I’m the only one in my right mind….
2) I’m the oldest of my siblings
3) I have four brothers - Jeff, Todd, Kyle, & Kelly
4) I was a little bit of a rebel growing up - imagine that!!! My parents wished (prayed) for me to have a daughter - I was blessed with two……
5) I quit high school after the 10th grade - got my GED - and attended a vocational college
6) I got married my first time at 17 - didn’t “have” to - divorced after 4 years - end of that story
7) I took ballet and tap dance lessons for 7 years (as a child) - participated in athletics during jr and sr high school - went to varsity high state championships as a gymnastic competitor when I was a freshman
Well, there you have it…..Come back tomorrow for Blogger’s Challenge…… in the meantime, Enjoy and Create, Lila

I really like this sentiment “Bloom Where You’re Planted” and have it in several fonts. I think the words can give hope, empathy, encouragement, thinking of you, celebration, and congratulations. Here’s one of my favorite fonts with this sentiment - the stamp is from Papertrey Ink remaining details follow the card sample.

Stamp Sets: “Spiral Bouquet: (Papertrey Ink); “Baroque Motifs” (Stampin Up) - Cardstock: Walnut Cream (Bazzill Smoothie) - Ink: VersaMark - Accessories: Antique Label and Velvet Posies die cuts (Creative Cuts & More); Tomato Velvet rectangle die cut (Nestabilities-Spellbinders); Glory Gold and Black embossing powders, sheer ribbon, gold cording (Stampin Up); Gold Leafing pen (Krylon); half-pearl (Bazzill Collection from Imaginisce)

After not feeling well last week, a little antibiotics, rest and more rest, I finally feel better for stamping and a little blogging. I wanted to share a recent project, and I’m using it for my Blogger’s Challenge Week #37 (where our challenge was to make a card - any shape other than rectangle), using some custom die cut Chatterbox paper from Creative Cuts & More. Now, I think this is about the coolest thing next to sliced bread. I can purchase whatever paper I want to use - send to Creative Cuts & More, they will die cut and mail back to me. Now, for some of you that might seem like a little pain in the butt - but, since fuel costs are over $3.00 gal here in the Boise area and our local scrapbook stores a lacking in a large variety of die cuts (and one of them severely lacks in customer service and I refuse to step foot in the store) AND since I happen to be a pattern paper hoarder…. this was really simple for me. Here’s what I came up with -

Card details - again, Pattern Paper (Chatterbox); cardstock Almond Cream (Bazzill Smoothie); Stamps: “Spiral Bouquet” (Papertrey Ink); Ink: Aegean Blue (VersaMagic); die cut felt flowers, stem and leaves (Orange Spice, cashmere tan & olive felt using Posies Set from CC&M); accessories: buttons (Foofla); taffeta ribbon (SU), sewing machine.
The felt die cuts were also from Creative Cuts & More - I’m telling you - this is the coolest. CC&M choices also include selecting Bazzill Smoothie or Textured papers, velvets, felt, chipboard, acetate, foam, and polyshrink - to to name a few of the materials available - now for the die cuts - that would take a whole post just for itself. Go take a look and browse around. I guarantee you’ll be seeing more 3-D projects from me in the future. Enjoy and Create, Lila

They say, “March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb”. Well I’m hoping more for a lamb like March. Our Blogger’s Challenge this week was to use the sympathy card layout on page 44 of the Spring/Summer Stampin Up catty. Here’s my sample and a little extra. I’ve been really under the weather and missed most of the work week. Once I started feeling a little better made this little card for myself…. must admit, I’m feeling much better - don’t know if it is the card or the antibiotics…..

Card details: Stamp Sets: “BoPeep’s Sheep” (Whipper Snapper Designs - thank you Anna Wight!); sentiment “Heartfelt Phrases” (Verve Visual) - Paper: White Select (Papertrey Ink); Creamy Caramel & Regal Rose (SU); pattern paper from Daisy Bucket - Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine); Jumbo Java (VersaMagic) - Accessories: pink taffeta ribbon (SU); border punch (Martha Stewart); colored with Prisma Color Pencils and gamsol
Now what would a BoPeep be without her Sheep? (answer: lost)

The above sample was one of the easiest to make - because I got the circle cut window cardbase and punched flower ready made from Creative Cuts and More! if you have a quick moment check it out! anyway, Card Details: Stamp Set: “BoPeep’s Sheep” (Whipper Snapper Designs); Cardstock precut A2 Small Window in Pomegranate Splash (Bazzill Smoothie); Strawberry Splash (Bazzill Smoothie); Almond Cream (Bazzill Smoothie) - Pattern Paper: Chatterbox - Ink: VersaMark; Onyx Black (VersaFine) image colored with Copics and a little airbrushing - Accessories: SU punches and mini Queen & Co brads.
Hope you enjoyed the two samples - be sure to check out the other Blogger’s Challenge - links to the right. Enjoy and Create, Lila
