So I’ve finished my Holiday cards, addressed and in the mail. Boy I have to say I’m ready to move on to something else - don’t get me wrong I love making Christmas and Holiday/Winter cards…….. I’m just really ready to move to another theme. With that being said, I’ve got a bright and cheerful little sample using one of the Uplifting Phrases from Verve Visual’s new sentiment set - remember there are 4 new sets available and a couple of remix sets that Julee has.
This sample is pretty straight forward.

Sample details:
Stamps: Music Notes (Inkadinkado); Sentiment from Uplifting Phrases (Verve Visual)
Paper: Soft Sky & Wild Wasabi(SU), White (Classic Crest); pattern paper The All Dressed Up stack (DCWV) *Note this paper is the best - already patterned and glitterfied for you! watch for more samples using these glamorous prints - BLING Baby! Ink: Black VersaFine
Accessories: Word Window Punch and dimensionals (SU); mini brads (Queen & Co); ribbon May Arts
Another another note - I’ve made a promise to my friend Julie Koerber to participate in a PAY IT FORWARD. It really is pretty simple. I promise to send a little something, something to the first 3 people who comment and commit to PAY IT FORWARD - your participation is to post on your blog a PAY IT FORWARD notice and send something (I know we all have extra cards or projects just begging to be sent to a new home) to three people. Leave in your comment PAY IT FORWARD and I will contact you for your mailing address. I can’t wait to receive Julie’s little surprise and will be sure to share. Enjoy your day….. Lila

This week’s blogger challenge was to make a Sympathy card. Sometimes I think Sympathy cards are the most difficult - because the recipient is usually going through a difficult time. I know after loosing my dad and being a recipient that cards can really show a grieving person you care, they are in your thoughts, and they are not alone. For my sample I used Anna’s sketch challenge and really loved this design.

Sample details:
Stamp Sets: Birds Galore (Inkadinkado), sentiment from Heartfelt Phrases (Verve Visual)
Paper: Classic Cream (Classic Crest); Kraft & Groovy Guava (SU); pattern paper Wedded Bliss (Reminisce)
Inks: Niagra Mist, Pink Grapefruit, Wheat (VersaMagic)
Accessories: Taffeta Ribbon, Pretties Kit, dimensionals (SU); Nestabilities (Spellbinders)
I loved this pattern paper it has the slightest shimmer. Again, I really liked using Anna’s sketch - hope you do too! Enjoy, Lila

This week’s Blogger’s Challenge was Watercoloring. I have to admit like many others for this weeks challenge, I have been neglecting my watercolor brush - let alone my watercolor crayons, pencils and/or re-inkers. For me, before Prisma Pencils and Gamsol or Copic markers, watercoloring was my favorite technique. I love to color outline images. So when I started this project I found that I was really out of practice - it wasn’t happening like I envisioned or wanted - this project way too long - simply because I was out of practice. Anyway, I’m glad to participate in this challenge - coming back to some of the basics for rubber stamping - forgetting all the newest trends and gadgets (for the most part…..).
Here’s my sample - -

Sample details:
Stamp Sets: Summer by the Sea (SU) and sentiment Heartfelt Phrases (Verve Visual) ***** more about the sentiment below***
Paper: Groovy Guava, Cranberry Crisp (retired), Basic Black (SU), White (Classic Crest); Pattern Paper Heidi Grace
Inks: Image stamped with Graphite Black (Brilliance), various ink pads and reinkers for watercolor puddles
Accessories: Word Window Punch (SU), Cranberry stitched ribbon (retired SU), black brads (Making Memories), watercolor brush, Nestabilities (Spellbinders), corner rounder punch (Creative Memories)
I enjoyed this challenge and coming back to what I feel is a basic stamping technique - it was a challenge and I promised myself I would practice more… Enjoy, Lila
****Now a little more information *****
Verve Visual is getting ready to release this month’s sets - there are 4 new sentiment sets!!! They will fit in SU’s Word Window Punch. Check out a couple more samples and the eloquently written details by Kim on the VVBlog - a couple more samples on Julee’s blog. I know you will need these new sets. Again, enjoy-Lila
