Blogger’s Challenge Week 23

Posted in Recent projects at 4:45 pm

I’ve been a little busy (OK, alot busy) the last few weeks, plus had some health issues (fortunately nothing life threatening - and I’m on my way to feeling much better) and have not had a chance to participate in the Blogger’s Challenges BUT this week I had a little extra time. This week’s challenge was “Same Stamp Different Point of View”. I had so much fun - not to mention that I also got a couple of new stamp sets that were screaming for ink.4-blog-week-23.jpg

Details for the above sample:

Stamp Sets: Spiral Bouquet (Papertrey Ink), Kanji (SU)

Paper: Ruby Red & Black (SU), Natural White (Classic Crest) , Gold Shine Metallic (unknown), pattern paper (7 Gypsies)

Ink: VersaMagic, Gold Encore, VersaFine

Accessories: Glory Gold embossing powder (SU)

The next two samples - I loved this color combo and look so much I made two:

The above cards details:

Stamp Sets: Spiral Bouquet & Beautiful Blooms (Papertrey Ink)

Paper: Natural White (Classic Crest), Blue Sky & Close to Cocoa (SU)

Ink: Vanilla Craft (SU), VersaMagic

Accessories: ribbon (SU), half pearls (SU)

So I’m loving my new sets from Papertrey Ink - can’t wait to play a little more with them. I’m working on my Christmas cards…… don’t see much light at the end of that tunnel. And will have some exciting stuff to share real soon from Verve Visual. Enjoy and be back soon, Lila

Christmas Samples - A Few More

Posted in Recent projects at 4:39 am

Sharing a couple of Christmas samples using one of my favorite techniques - paper piecing.

Each of these samples uses stamps from Inque Boutique, 7 Gypsies 6X6 variety pack from “Sushi Journey” and/or “Zanaibar”. The pine bough stamp is from Great Impressions with Stampin Up Always Artichoke craft (pigment ink).

Enjoy, lila

Rising to Amy’s Sketch Challenge

Posted in Recent projects at 4:08 am

Well, I’m a little later than what I wanted to be with these two samples - they are in response to Amy’s sketch challenge she threw out there a little over a week ago - but as they say better late than never.amys-sketch.jpg

Both use Cosmo Cricket “Wonderland” pattern papers, PaperTrey Ink clear stamps “Believe”, a run through the Cuttlebug folder with light handed sanding, oval punch and oval scallop, and a little ribbon to finish each. Both were colored using Prisma Pencils - I do have to admit to taking a little Gamsol to each for blending - as I still am practicing on my Karen Lockhart instruction and technique.  Enjoy, Lila

Let it Snow!

Posted in Recent projects at 5:40 am

Here’s a quick card in anticipation of SNOW! It probably will still be while till we see snow here in the Boise valley -

Stamp is from Karen Lockhart and colored with Copics - it’s hard to see in the picture but there are a few snowflakes highlighted with Spica glitter pen. The awesome paper is from Cosmo Cricket “Wonderland” (thanks Julee!). Other details include using SU ticket punch, half-pearls, taffeta ribbon, and dimensionals. Enjoy, Lila
