This week’s Blogger’s Challenge was to use Designer Series Paper. I love, love, love my new Basic Grey “Figgy Pudding” paper! You gotta take a look - but will give fair warning you may need some too!

In addition to the Basic Grey “Figgy Pudding” I also used Papertrey Ink’s white cardstock and Hero Arts stamp set. A little SU taffeta ribbon, Sakura glitter pen, VersaFine Black ink, some Tim Holtz walnut ink around the edges and trimming around the sentiment with Provo Craft to finish it off. Be sure to check out the other Blogger’s Challenges. Enjoy, Lila

I’m really lovin this Blogger’s Challenge activity. Each week we have different challenges - this week’s challenge was “Inspiration” - taking something that gives you inspiration, create and share. Here is my sample:

I don’t have a picture of the inspiration piece to share. This was one of those times where I saw something that gave me an idea I made a little note in my ideas notebook - sometimes may put in a little sketch or side notes. So I visited my IDEAS book and this is what I came up with. Card is 5 1/4 X 5/14 square. Blue Bayou (SU) cardstock base covered with slightly smaller Basic Grey Periphery pattern paper that was stamped with “Pollen Dust” swirls (Fancy Pants) using Glue Essentials pad the covered with Martha Stewart glitter. The stamped bird image (Oxford Impressions) was stamped with Burnt Umber (Palette) and colored with PrismaMarkers. The frame is a Basic Grey die cut that I outlined with Goldleafing pen (Krylon). Put the stamped image behind the frame, tied a swede ribbon (unknown) around, and final placement of the framed image with dimensionals (SU). Be sure to check out the other Blogger Challenges - links on right sidebar. Enjoy, Lila

Today starts a parade of gorgeous samples from Verve Visual’s design team spotlighting “Winter Wonder” and “Seasonal Circles” stamp sets released October 10. In addition to the samples featured during the parade the gallery is chocked full of many samples using these sets and showing their versatility.
Here are a couple of my samples - all details can be found in the VV Gallery.

Hoping this give you a little inspiration and demonstrates the versatility of the Seasonal Circles stamp set. Come back a little later this week - for Blogger’s Challenge posting - this week’s challenge “Inspiration” - featuring projects from things that have inspired us. See you soon. Enjoy, Lila

I’m sooooo happy it’s Friday!!! I have a couple of samples for this week’s Blogger’s Challenge. This challenge was to create ornaments. For my samples I have cards with the removable ornament as part of the design. Take a look……

Both samples start with Papertrey’s white cardstock. Since the front’s of these are a little heavier than most cards, the PTI cardstock provides the support on the base that is needed. Both sets used Carolee’s Creations Adornit pattern paper( ya, I know it was from last year, but I still love this paper). The removable ornaments use Hero Arts die cut chipboard and are covered with the CC pattern paper then trimmed. A little two-way glue (ok a lot of glue because I wanted lots of sparkle) and some SU Dazzking Diamonds. The snowmen, sentiments, and snowflakes stamps are from Inkadinkado’s Holiday Clear Stamp Set “Holiday Swirls”. Using the handheld 1/8″ punch on the chipboard snowflake ran either cording or ribbon through to use as the hanger for the tree. Enjoy, Lila - - Be sure to check out the other Challenges - links on the right……

Verve Visual release day is finally here! You can now purchase Seasonal Circles and Winter Wonder at the Verve Store. Each set is only $10 and includes a CD case with printed index sheet for easy storage. These stamp sets come in red, deep etched, unmounted rubber. Julee’s added the option to purchase a 1/4 sheet of EZ Mount with your set for just $1 more!
Here are a couple of my projects using these wonderful new sets - details are on the VV Gallery. Be sure to take a look at the other projects in the Verve Visual Gallery - stunning work!!!!

And another

On a personal note - I’ve been more limited in my stamping time - this paid job is really getting in the way. As I mentioned in an earlier post a major employer in our area has laid off 1000+ workers (I work at the unemployment office - specifically with dislocated workers). This major employer also announced they quarterly financial report - not looking good. They are using the term “reorganization” which usually means there are more pending lay-offs……. My management team also asked me yesterday if I could increase my hours - so full-time here I come….. I must say I do really enjoy the satisfaction I receive as a case manager for dislocated workers. We do have funds available for training and skill enhancement along with Trade Act extended unemployment benefits. Since my husband worked in the lumber industry, we have experienced job loss on more than one occasion - I truly believe in the programs that are available and have seen great success even with these current employees who are loosing their jobs. I’ve also heard some real heartbreaking stories. Stamping continues to be my therapy and builds my resiliency to continue working each day.
I did get my projects done last week on time for Blogger’s Challenge (black and orange), however, did not have time until yesterday to photo and upload - so they are late. I’m so thinking about Mango Margaritas!!!! But working on this weeks’ challenge. Enjoy. Lila
