Blogger’s Challenge Week 13

Posted in Recent projects at 4:18 am

I know I’m posting a little early but there is a real good reason. I’m headed down the highway - can you can Road Trip? No kids no husbands- just me and Kim. We’re on our way to Spokane where we will be taking two classes instructed by Karen Lockhart - can you believe it??? We are also going to be stopping at several scrapbooking and rubber stamping stores along the way - One in particular will be Daisy Bucket - the manufacturer has a store. Will be sure to share when we get back…..
On to the Blogger’s challenge - this week’s challenge was to use embossing. There are several types of embossing and I decided to cheat a little and use my Cuttlebug embossing folders - much easier on the hands.

week-13.jpg

The base for my card is SU River Rock cardstock, designer papers are from Webster’s Pages - Yum, Yum, (not the name of the papers but rather my description of the paper). I ran a piece of Webster through my Cuttlebug embossing folder and then lightly sanded to make the images more apparent. Chipboard piece is from Maya Road and colored with ink. Some Prima Essentials II stacked on top of each other and finished with a little Martha Stewart ribbon in French Knots holds and ties everything together.

Enjoy - can’t wait to see everyone’s challenge pieces. Lila

First let me say how jealous I am that you get to take a class by the Master Lockhart herself! Have fun and take pictures if you can!

Second, your card is wonderful. The colors are really stunning!

    Safe travels!

Very nice! I like how the medallion (chipboard piece) mimics the pattern in your designer paper. I also like how you sanded your cuttlebug embossed piece. Also I hope you had a great time in Spokane (I live about 3 hours away) Ida
