Blogger’s Challenge week 12

Posted in Recent projects at 3:29 am

This week’s challenge was “Inspired By” theme - taking a pattern in a piece of clothing, colors in a rug…Some design that inspires you to create a card or project. My inspiration piece came from MAC Cosmetics. My girls and I use MAC exclusively. Here’s a pic of my inspiration

The MAC cosmetics are beautiful pigment powders and instantly made me think of gold leafing - thus the inspiration for my card.

My card uses the most gorgeous Paper Salon designer papers in rich Autumn colors. The base of the card is SU Ruby Red cardstock stamped with SU Canvas background and Baroque Motifs using VersaMark. A layered strip of Paper Salon papers across the mid section. The SU Fabulous Flowers was stamped with VersaMark, a little Heat N Stick, then applied the gold leafing, and trimmed. I stamped and leafed two identical images - layering the center with dimensionals to give a a little more depth. Sentiment is also from SU Fabulous Flowers set stamped with VersaMark and then copper embossing powder. Three copper brads on the right side finish the card.

What inspires you? Look around - every day I see inspiration in so many things - now I just need to find the time and take that inspiration. I really enjoyed this challenge and loved using the gold leafing and rich Autumn colors. Can’t wait to see all the other Blogger’s Challenges. Enjoy, Lila

Great job with this challenge! I only hope that you don’t wear your eye makup quite like this. It’s a little much. ;)
