Get your VERVE on!
So Julee from Verve Visual is getting ready to release her next red rubber set “Fancy Florals”. I got a chance to create a couple of samples. This first one reminds me of my grandmother. She was the most accomplished Quilter I have ever seen. Grandma and Grandpa DeLeeuw had five daughters, they in-turn got married and had their own children. Their children had children. We had a family reunion August 2006 and counted - there were over 150 descendents. My grandmother made quilts for each of her grand and great-grandchildren. We all received one as a newborn, then when we graduated from high school, and then again when we were married. I still have all mine (except for when I was a toddler - cause I wore it out). This is as close as I can come to quilting.
Cardstock: Stampin Up - Vanilla, Ruby Red, Blue Bayou, So Saffron
Pattern Paper: Cosmo Cricket “Gretel”
Stamp Sets: VV “Fancy Florals”
Inks: VersaMagic “Agean Blue” & “Jumbo Java”
Misc Accessories: Computer generated sentiment, popdots, sewing machine, white felt for batting in quilt
Here is the next sample -
Cardstock: Stampin Up - Vanilla & Chocolate Chip
Pattern Paper: cosmo Cricket “Gretel”
Stamp Sets: Verve Visual “Fancy Florals”
Inks: Tim Holtz Distressing “Walnut”, Stewart Superior Palette “Burnt Umber”
Misc Accessories: May Arts ribbon from VV; Cuttlebug die cut; Making Memories brad; pop dots; SU paper piercer, sponge
Hope you enjoy - take a look at Verve and get your Verve on. Lila

Beautiful cards! I started a quilt 4 years ago and it’s still unfinished! Now all it needs is the border and the binding, but I just can’t seem to make myself sit down and finish it.

Hello Lila, thanks so much for the reply to the Essential Glue Pad on my blog - I will certainly give it a go, your samples are beautiful! If I could get my swirls to look like that it would be fantastic! By replying to this you should now have my email address? If you do , would you mind just dropping me a line so I can contact you? I am away now but will reply on my return and certainly play a bit more. I only wish we could get SU or Martha Stewart goodies here , but alas they are not sold in the UK.

Both of these are really good. I like the quilt one because it came with a story! Very clever you are…

These are great. I love how you added the quilting squares to the first one. And, oh my goodness, that flower on the second one is FAB. It looks like a poppy.
