Start of new Month and Week

A little something to start July and a new week. I know I will be super busy this week will be working my paid job and it will be busy, busy because our largest employer in the Boise area appears to be laying off employees. It started last Friday and according to the news will continue for the next couple of weeks. These are permanent lay-offs are in the high tech industry and since my primary duties include for Department of Labor - Rapid Response and case management for dislocated workers where I work with mass lay-offs and business closures. Then we have 4th of July celebration and Scott is a wannabe pyro-tech. We plan to have a couple of people over to share in his choreographed display of patriotism - ya right!!! He’s really just a big kid at heart. Speaking of Scott, here’s a project I recently completed for Linnecard and this week’s challenge “Masking”.

10X14 primed canvas; Foofla Buttons; Fancy Pants Ribbon & Paper “Aged Florals”; TradeMARKS Rubons; Prima Flower; Heidi Swapp Mask; Making Memories paint; Stampin Up cardstock: White and Pomegranate; Stampin Up Craft Ink: White, Pumpkin, Celery, Coral & Dye Pomegranate; Colorbox Fluid Chalk: Chestnut Roan; SU White embossing powder.

For the feature technique I placed the Heidi Swapp mask on cardstock, sponged SU white craft ink over, lifted the mask, sprinkled white embossing powder, tapped of extra, embossed with heat tool, and then sponged craft inks in and and around the flower, stem and leaf areas. I really liked how this turned out. I don’t often have many pictures of Scott and I together. This was taken last fall at the Botanical Garden on a lazy Saturday afternoon.
