MIA and Explanations!!

Posted in Recent projects at 3:38 pm

Well it has been quite a while since I’ve posted on the ol’ BLOG. I could give a million reasons - but the main one is I’ve been busy. My husband and I took a trip to Kamloops, British Columbia for an extended, extended Memorial Day weekend. Scott had lumber industry business there and I got to tag along. We took two days there and back and spent a couple of days there. Unfortunately there were no Rubber Stamping stores - can you believe it. I finally found a scrapbook store - uh, I have more stuff on my dining room table - now what’s wrong with that picture (no, my table is not to full…….) anyway the only gig in that town I could find was Michael’s - we have one here…… Other reasons include the end of the school year and those activities and working on a few creations with deadlines. So now I’m done and back at it.

Yesterday I received my PatStamps Technique Junkie Newsletter - WOWZA!!! not only are the techniques awesome but the artwork it just stunning. If you don’t subscribe I highly recommend - now I may be a little bias since I’m on the TJ Design Team but man there are some really good artists: Leigh O’Brien, Vada Schutz, Connie Piotter, Connie Babbert, Lisa Somerville, Kimm Bennington-Thompson, Cindy Roos, of course Pat Huntoon, and Guest Designers for this issue Nancy Young and Judy Jackson. Pat does a wonderful job with not only the newsletter but step-by-step pictures with detailed supply lists and instruction - then a couple times a year she has a CD with the techniques and artwork all in one place. So I just gave to share one of what I think is the best cards I’ve done. I loved the technique and the stamps from Impression-Obsessions are to dye for… Since this was specifically for TJ Newsletter I won’t be sharing the specifics and how to’s - the technique is called Faux Flocking and you are more than welcome to subscribe to the newsletter - tell Pat I sent you…. enjoy the creation.

I’ve also been in a creative frenzy for Linnecards - June is my first month on Sharon’s Linnecards Design Team and I’m feeling real good with my mojo - I would describe as “on high octane” - I’m feeling really good about the creations. My first assignment was for a technique - INK!!! Well, if you know me at all that is right up my alley. Here’s a sample warm up using Alcohol Marker Ink - specifically PrismaMarkers - ya, I jumped on that band wagon - only slightly though….right now I can hold all my markers in two hands. I used a new paper from KI Memories “Love, Ellsie-Roxie” for the background, highlighted a couple of the doodles with the Prismas - and then embellished with some Heidi Swapp and a little Stickles. This is for my oldest daughter, Courtney - it is accompanying a little care package to her with most of the entire line - remember this was just a warm up. As soon as I can - once the others are up on Linnecard (it’s free - you really should take a look at the gallery) I will get around to posting here - so stay tuned.

Enjoy and will have more to come, Lila

Wow! That purple card is just gorgeous. Maybe I will have to check into this TJ newsletter thing. The card for your daughter just rocks! Just too cool!

Cute cards this time!! I like them both… not that I’m bias or anything, since one is in my favorite colors and the other one is for me.
